Currently, the Executive meets every Tuesday (at 3pm) and every Friday (at 1pm), if you have concerns or questions, feel free to come to a meeting. Meetings are held in Sidney Smith Hall in Room 2061. Please seethe Constitution for more detail about the positions and the Association.

President Bruce Harpham
Bruce is in his fourth year at the University of Toronto, pursuing a specialist in history and a minor in political science. For fun, Bruce enjoys reading and watching science fiction in its many different incarnations, eating Japanese food and surfing the Internet. He became involved in the HSA in 2003 and has been hooked ever since. Bruce is also very active in campus journalism (The Varsity, Salterrae) and looks forward to beginning graduate studies next year.

President Elana Covshoff

Vice-President Eleanore Gann

Vice-President Richard Bounds
Richard spends the majority of his time plotting the downfall of the USFQP (United Squirrel Federation of Queens Park) the shadowy organization of “tree rats” that plot to overthrow the human race. When not consumed by madness, Richard finds time to actually go to class. He is in his third year, in a History Specialist program with the lofty goal of not only preventing the overthrow of the human race but of also becoming a High School Teacher. He has taken:    HIS109, HIS251, HIS263, and HIS281.  He is currently taking; HIS241, HIS311, HIS312, HIS320. Richard’s ‘field’ would consist of Canadian and Modern European History, but has dabbled in Japanese and Medieval history as well. In his spare time he collects Anime and Manga, Comics, Web Comics, Games and watches Invader Zim with a passion. He spends the remainder of his time TA’ing at his old high school, to further his minute chance of actually getting into a Teacher’s College. He may be identified by his U of T™ Leather Jacket with “History” on the back, as well as a slightly haggard look on his bespectacled face. You are advised to approach with caution as he has been known to run screaming if faced with someone willing to actually talk to him (who isn’t a damned dirty squirrel) oh, he is also one of the Vice Presidents of the HSA.

Vice-President Laura Reynolds

Treasurer Graham Andrews

Graham is in his 3rd year at the University of Trinity College in the University of Toronto and is currently pursuing a double major in history and political science.  This is his first year of involvement with the HSA and he very much looking forward to the challenges presented by the position.  He has taken HIS109Y, HIS238H, HIS239H, HIS250Y, HIS241H, HIS242H, HIS232Y and is currently taking HIS263Y, HIS334Y, HIS343Y, and HIS302H.  His historical interests lie mainly in 19th and early 20th century Western Europe and Russia with special emphasis on the British Empire and the ruling classes.  When not lurking around Sid Smith for some history class or other, he can usually be found trying to resurrect a monarchy or two at Trinity College.

Upper Year Rep Phoebe Choe

Walking around campus, if you ever see a petite Korean gal permanently attached to her pink mini ipod, munching on some food; you've just seen your Upper Year Rep.  Luckily, food and music aren't her only passion. Phoebe is a 4th year U of T student who is pursing a double major in History and Sociology.  Her historical interest involves the social history of various people groups and the factors that have shaped their experiences and their social contexts.  Accordingly, her interests have led her to delve into a variety of topics in History such as HIS106Y, HIS281Y, HIS294Y, HIS357Y, HIS396Y, HIS441H, HIS312H, and HIS316H. Although this is her first time being a part of the HSA, she is very eager and excited to be a part of the executive committee to heighten the interest for History around the campus.

Lower Year Rep Andrew Ejeber
Andrew is just beginning his University of Toronto experience, and is aspiring to do a joint specialist of history and political science. Andrew’s interests involve the martial arts, which he has been training in for over 10 years. Apart from that food and sleep appear to take a prominent position on his priority list.  Andrew is currently taking HIS106Y and HIS250Y, and is finding both classes “challenging” but “fair”. Andrew’s historical interests lie mainly in modern North America; however Russian history is becoming increasingly interesting. Andrew looks forward to a great year with the HSA and invites all lower years to come on out and get involved!

Part Time Rep Michael Garner
